8/30/2023 0 Comments Maschine controller mk1![]() I havent used maschine since v2 due to waiting for the batch midi to be fixed (it has now) but I dont think the midi mode template has been fixed yetNot true. If you plan on using maschine with ableton dont update it.the 1.8 software fitted ableton like a glove.the templates made it a great midi controller. The colours are a nice organizational aid. ![]() The mk2 hardware feels more robust and the buttons have a nice tactile feel. ![]() I find if you use experimental techniques such as hardware or software modular synthesis being able to quickly sample makes work flow with strange sound generators much more productive.Ģ) the softer larger drum pads are more sensitive than Push which I prefer for gentle percussion playing such as ride cymbols. Now that I am used to being able to sample and edit so fast I wish I had bought an MPC back in the 90s when I first started making electronic music. This is what I missed most about having only the Push. Quick sampling and sample editing can all be done from the controller. It runs within Ableton Live and gets its audio from an Aux or external input. What I use Mashine for is two things.ġ) Sampling! I treat Maschine mk2 as a one shot and percussion sampler. I had previously had a mk1 which I sold when Ableton Push was announced.
